Sarah Jane Matthews Dugdale
Learn about sponsoring this memorial...
Birth: Apr. 27, 1819
Death: Dec. 31, 1881

Sara Jane first married William Thompson and had 3 children:
Sarah Jane 1844-1845
Oliver Edwin 1846-1911
John Moroni 1849-1851

Sara had a daughter with an unknown father: Hannah that was adopted by William.

The family converted to Mormonism and started the trek to Utah. They made it to St. Louis and stayed awhile presumably to earn more money for the trip. William and John became sick and died within a year of each other.

Sara Jane sent Hannah along to Utah with Thomas Seddon and his wife Caroline Peckham (a couple they met in St. Louis). Sara Jane then married Henry Dugdale and began the trek to Utah. Henry had an altercation with the Mormon leader and left the group in Nebraska so Sara Jane never made it to her daughter Hannah and lived her life out in NE.

Aged 62 years. Wife of Henry Dugdale.
