June "Marmie" Mathewson Loy, 83, of Troy, Ohio, died Friday, April 15, 2005.

She was born July 17, 1921, in Fayette City, a daughter of the late David Adamson Mathewson and Ray Willard Hamilton.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Troy, the Serendipity Prayer Group, Troy Senior Citizens, Order of Eastern Star and a volunteer with Ginghamsburg Clothes Line.

Mrs. Loy was a retired office manager with Answering Service Inc.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Renee M. and Blaise M. Hirth, of Troy; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher M. and Tina Snead Loy, of Ithaca, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Amy E. Jones, of Piqua, Ohio, Nicole Sullivan and husband David, of Warren, Mich., and Blaise M. Hirth II, of Madison Heights, Mich.; and one great-grandchild, Riley S. Etherington, of Piqua, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd William Loy, on June 19, 1989; a brother, David Q. Mathewson; and a sister, Janet Ray Jones.

Friends will be received in the BAIRD FUNERAL HOME, 555 North Market St., Troy, Ohio 45373 on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, April 18, from 4 to 7 p.m., when services will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Richard Culp. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 20, at 11 a.m. in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Fayette City.

Memorial contributions may be made in June's memory to: College Education Fund, c/o People's Savings Bank, 635 South Market St., Troy, Ohio 45373.

Local arrangements will be handled by the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME, Fayette City.
