Joan was born to George A. and Anna P. Gibson Kelch. She married Donald E. Matarelli on Nov. 3, 1951, in Peoria. He passed away on Jan. 19, 1997, in Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Matarelli; three brothers; and three sisters.
Joan is survived by two daughters, Donetta (Tom) Jenn of Peoria and Sharon (John) Ward of Desoto, Mo.; and one brother, Ardy (Nancy) Kelch of Bartonville.
She was a hostess for 10 years at Jumers Castle Lodge.
Joan enjoyed Italian cooking and especially making pizza fritas with her grandchildren.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria.
