Ida "Edith" Astore nee Matarazzo

Beloved mother of Marianne Druding (Robert), Diane Buck (Kenneth), Laraine Perry (Wayne deceased) and Peter (Lisa), 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
Born in Castellebate, Italy she grew up in Philadelphia and attended St. Monica's Commercial School and graduated in 1942. Edith was a sales girl for John Wanamaker's in Center City, which she loved. She also worked in her parent's corner grocery store on Daly Street from the 1930's to the 1960's.
Married to Peter J. Astore in 1953 they resided in Philadelphia and later moved to Voorhees, NJ in 1967 where they raised their family. She worked at Camden Catholic High School and later at Eastern High School. She enjoyed her family and friends and always entertained, especially Sunday dinner's. Many of her childhood friends became lifelong friends. Edith touched the hearts of all those she knew and met, she will be sadly missed.
A viewing will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 9:30am-11:30am with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30am at the Christ the Redeemer Parish/Assumption Church, 318 Carl Hasselhan Dr., Atco, NJ.
