SHELBYVILLE DEMOCRAT - 23MAY1907 - GOOD WOMAN DIES - MRS. MARTHA CALVERT PASSES AWAY AT HOME OF HER SON
Mrs. Martha Calvert passed away at the home of her son, John C. Calvert, near Brunswick at 8 o'clock Friday morning after 1 year's illness from paralysis. Mrs. Calvert made her home on N. Broadway in this city until 1 month ago, when, on account of infirmities, she was taken to the home of her youngest son, William Calvert. She went to the home of her son, John Calvert, about a week ago. She was an amiable, conscientios christian woman, a devoted mother & a kind neighbor.
Mrs. Calvert was born in Sullivan Co., IN, 29May1882. She was the daughter of Chamberlin & Emily Marts. Her parents moved to Shelby Co. in 1850 & it was here that she was united in marriage to William Calvert on 12Aug1852. Mr. & Mrs. Calvert were the parents of 4 children. One daughter died in infancy. The surviving sons & daughter are: John C. Calvert & William R. Calvert or Ridge Twp.; & Mrs. Sarah Scott of Mulberry Grove, IL. The husband died in Feb1889.
The funeral was held from the Brunswick church at 11 o'clock Sunday morning. The services were conducted by Elder Levi Corley.
