Geneva was born April 28, 1937 in Carterville, Mo. and had lived in Carthage the last 40 years. She worked at Leggett & Platt for 13 years and formerly worked at Big Smith Mfg. She was a member of the Avilla Baptist Church.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nona Marrs, one brother, Oren Marrs, and one grandson, Zeth Joyce.
Survivors include one son, Terry W. Bass and wife Gina, Carthage, Mo., one daughter, LaDonna Joyce and husband Tim, Carthage, Mo., two brothers, Floyd Marrs and Jerry Marrs and wife Linda, all of Joplin, Mo., two sisters, Janice Campbell and husband Richard, and Wanda Darby and husband Don, all of Webb City, Mo. and three grandchildren; Felicia Bass, Victoria Bass, and Zach Joyce.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Carterville Cemetery with Rev. Walter Horn officiating. Those gentleman honoring her life by serving as pallbearers will be Keith Darby, Jeff Marrs, Curtis Marrs, Chad Marrs, Donnie Campbell, and Rick Campbell. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the Hedge-Lewis Chapel. Contributions have been requested to the Avilla Baptist Church Building Fund.
