Dewey Clyde Marley, 92, of New Braunfels, Texas died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at his home. Services have been scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Wednesday February 6, 2013 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Mike McDowell, Pastoral Minister of Decatur Church of Christ. Interment with military honors will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in the Garden section. Visitation will be held prior to the service, 1:30-2:30 p.m., at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Clyde was born September 11, 1920 in Wichita Falls to Dewey Clyde and Thelma Ard Marley. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp during WWII with the distinction of serving at Iwo Jima. He was baptized in the Church of Christ and was a Mason. Clyde attended Midwestern State University and worked for Humble Oil before selling life insurance for Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company where he retired after many years.
Mr. Marley is preceded in death by his parents; son, Eric "Rick" Craig Marley; and brother, Bill Marley.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Marley of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Melonie Marley Canga, Anita Marley; great-grandson, Zander Canga; sister and brother-in-law, Wayne and Lynn Biggs Long; sister-in-law, Frieda Marley; mother of his children, Juanita Hill Henderson.
