Mrs. Cora Lee Leonard, 61, a resident of 230 Windley Street, died Friday, July 25, 2008 at High Point Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Leonard was born January 1, 1947, a daughter of James E. and Louise Copening Marley. A lifelong resident of High Point, she was a former employee of Holiday Inn. More often than not, you could find her either reading, working word puzzles, or watching television movies. Cats gave her much delight. She loved them all. She leaves a legacy of love and caring for others.
Her parents and one brother, James Leon Marley, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Leonard; one sister, Betty Ann McLean; one brother, Thurmond Marley and wife, Lizzie, all of High Point, North Carolina; nephews, Christopher and Jeremiah McLean; nieces, Charlotte Bethea, Jennie Herbine and Martha Robinson; great nieces, Levonda and Jasmine McCombs, Mercedes Bethea, Mahogany Mitchell, Rahim and Ta'ciana Robinson; caregivers Tabitha Walker, Veron Green, Tasha Livington; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2008 at the chapel of Haizlip Funeral Home, 206 Fourth St., with Rev. Perry Wyman officiating.
