MARIAN ELIZABETH AXLINE, 90, formerly of Smithsburg, Maryland, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Broadmore Senior Living in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Born December 16, 1920 in Middletown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Bettie B. Beachley Marker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore K. Axline on December 16, 1996.

She was a lab technician at Western Maryland Hospital.

She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was Sunday School Superintendent of the Children's Department.

She was past president of the P.T.A at Chewsville Elementary School.

She was a volunteer with March of Dimes; United Way of Washington County and the Chewsville Lions Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan McAllister and husband, Michael of Smithsburg, Md.; one son, Theodore K. Axline, II and wife, Maria G, of Hagerstown, Md.; one brother, Charles Austin Marker of Middletown, Md.; two grandchildren, Jeremy McAllister and wife Katie and Elizabeth Novara and husband, Vincent; four great grandchildren, James, Timothy and Megan McAllister and Jakob Novara.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Howard C. Marker.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown. The Rev. William Warehime will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742 or Bethel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 37, Chewsville, Maryland 21721.
