2nd wife of Dr. Isaac T. Couturier whom she married on June 8, 1831. From the John Peyre Thomas Diary, 1831-1832June 1831

Sunday 5th Cloudy, with appearances of clearing. There was some rain last night; a very good one at my place; I carried H. & the Children this morning to Moss Pond, with the intention of spending a few days. P. McKelvey & myself went in the afternoon on Horseback to W. Dubose's plantation, where we spent the night.

Monday 6th Clear & quite cool, we went on to Pine Ville, dined at Mrs. McKelveys & returned to Moss Pond in the afternoon. I consulted C. Stevens about purchasing Col. McKelveys land he thinks that I can safely do so.

Tuesday 7th Clear & cool early. I went to the place, the Cotton is beautiful.

Wednesday 8th Clear & cool early, warm during the day, with some clouds. We came home this morning; H. is better. The Baby is improving. T. Couturier was to have been married this morning at the Church to H. Marion; we were not invited. It is said that Walter is engaged to Elizabeth Kirk, I have not seen him since, he had not moved to Pine Ville on the 6th.
