Death Follows Illness Of Several Months
Perry Center, Nov. 2, Matthew Mansfield, 80, of Sioux City died Saturday evening in his home following an illness of several months.
Mr. Mansfield was born June 29, 1870, in Sioux City. At the age of 2 he came to Plymouth county, residing in Perry township for many years. Later he moved to a farm in Liberty township and to Sioux City about seven years ago.
Survivors are the widow, Katherine, four sons, Joseph and John both of Los Angeles, Edward of Sioux City and James of Elk Point, S. D., five daughters, Mrs. Lucille Hall of Hawthorne, Calif., Mrs. Earl Ream of Merrill, Mrs. Orel Banks of Akron, and Mrs. Lloyd Worden and Mrs. Ted Stephens, both of Sioux City, a brother, Herbert of Westfield; a sister Mrs. Daniel Ariosa of Le Mars; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Leona, died in 1932 in Plymouth county.
Funeral services wore held at 9 a. m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic church in Sioux City. Rev. Edward C. Lilly officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
