Rev. R. A. Folkes was called to King and Queen county Wednesday, April 6th, to preach the funeral of Mrs. Lessie Barnes, widow of the late Rev. James Barnes, who died at her home near Plain View on Sunday night after a short illness. Mrs. Barnes was a sister of Mrs. Ben Joe Vaughan and Mrs. Addie Vaughan, this county (Gloucester). She was buried at Poroporone church by the side of her late husband, who had been dead twelve years to the day. She leaves a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
