Mildred Mandleco, 92, of Roachdale died at her home near Fincastle on March 3, 2009.
The daughter of Will and Bess Ross Lawler, she was born May 10, 1916, near Advance in Boone County. She was a 1934 graduate of Roachdale High School. She married James E. Mandleco, Jr. on Oct. 6, 1941 in Greencastle and he preceded her in death on May 27, 1998.

Mrs. Mandleco was a member of the Fincastle Canasta Club and the former Fincastle Country Club. She loved flowers, gardening and birds and was a wonderful cook. She was a member of the Russellville Community Church, having formerly been a member of the Raccoon Methodist Church and the Fincastle Community Church, where she was pianist and Sunday School teacher.

She is survived by four children, Martha Mandleco of Crawfordsville, James E. Mandleco III and wife Cathy of Roachdale, Phyllis O'Neal and husband Gene of Terre Haute and Carol Wallace and husband Bruce of Lafayette; six grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, two great granddaughters, and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Elaine, Ross and Malcolm Lawler.

Calling will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 7 at 10 a.m. with services to follow at 11 a.m. at the Russellville Community Church, Russellville.
