Born June 10, 1937 in Frederick Maryland, he was the son of the late Herbert and Hilda Main.
Michael was a strong man who was very active in many community organizations. In the 1970's he supported Frederick High School's Marching Band, Royal Aires Majorettes, coached a National Little League Team, coached a Frederick County Women's Softball Team, helped the Babe Ruth Baseball
association, and was an active member of the Independent Fire Company. Recently he was very active in the Brookhill Methodist Church and the Yellow Springs Lions Club. He worked at many
places of employment over the years including Oxfiber Brush Company, Sears, Baltimore Brick Company, the Montgomery County Court House and Weis Market. He was an avid sports fan
and could be found cheering on the Washington Redskins, New York Yankees and the Washington Nationals.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 3 children Dr. Debra Phebus and her husband Greg of Frederick, Randolph Main of Tacoma Washington and Tammy Patton and husband Mike of State College Pennsylvania. He loved his 3 grandchildren Matthew
Williams, Jennifer Ammerman, and Shawn Patton. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and a large group of friends at Brookhill Church and all his lion's club buddies. He leaves behind a very special and dear friend Clyde Hedgepeth.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-6:00 pm on Friday., March 28, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, March 29, at the Brookhill Methodist Church, 8946 Indian Springs Road, Frederick with Pastor Dana Werts and Pastor Gary Hicks officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations, in his honor, to Brookhill United Methodist Church, Yellow Springs Lions Club or Hospice of Frederick County.
