Ramona was born on August 9, 1930 to the home of Manuel C. and Antonia Sánchez Maestas.
Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Miguel Gutiérrez in 1980, her brothers, Manuel "Melito" and Alfred Maestas, sisters, Mary Córdova, Helen Córdova and Antonia Serrano and her grandson, Nathan Romero.
Ramona is survived by her son, Michael Gutiérrez and his wife, Linda of Albuquerque, NM, daughter, Priscilla Durán and her husband, Ralph of Albuquerque, NM, sister, Evelyn Carter of Albuquerque, NM, granddaughters, Nicole Córdova and Del, Roxanne Flores and Chris of Albuquerque, NM, great-grandchildren, Erryn, Aysia, Alyssa and Isaiah, along with many nieces and nephews.
Ramona worked as the bookkeeper for the Santa Rosa Lumber Co. for 25 years, and Jim Sena Construction for 15 years before retiring.
Ramona was a lifelong member of the Saint Rosa of Lima Catholic Church, Santa Rosa, NM, that she loved so much. Ramona will be remembered for always being cheerful, positive and encouraging to her family and everyone she knew.
A Rosary will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. and the funeral Mass on March 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Saint Rosa of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM. Interment will be at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM March 11, 2013 at 2:15 p.m.
