Carson Henry Madison Sr., 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 4, 1922, in Wichita, Kan. A resident for 40 years, he was a heavy duty welder at the Nevada Test Site, a section leader of Reader Rock Region for the Boy Scouts of America, local chapter of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, American Welding Society and Operating Engineers Local 12.

He is survived by his wife, Ethelyn; one daughter, Karen M. Madison of Las Vegas; one son, Carson H. Madison Jr. of Korea; two sisters, Erma Lee McGruder of Los Angeles and Elizabeth McKenna of San Diego; three brothers, Floyd Madison of Corsicana, Texas, Duane Madison of San Francisco and Charles Madison of Los Angeles; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
