E. Patricia Maddox Bankston - SAVANNAH - E. Patricia Maddox Bankston, 93, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Memorial Health University Medical Center with her daughter, Mary Ann Vines, (who had been her mother's soul caregiver for the past 4 1/2 years) at her bedside.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Eugene Bankston; a daughter, Brenda B. Bryant; a son, Johnny E. Bankston; a granddaughter, Tracey Ann Kennedy; her parents, three sisters and two brothers all of Dublin, GA.

Patricia was born and raised in Dublin, GA and attended local schools. On October 21, 1943, she married the love of her life, Jesse Eugene Bankston, (a marriage that lasted over 50 years), they made their home in Savannah in 1950. They were members of Garden City United Methodist Church and later became members of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Patricia loved gardening, sewing, her pets and taking care of her family. Patricia was also an avid canasta player. Through her years in Savannah, Patricia worked for the Savannah Chatham County Board of Education and loved working with children at The Learning Foundation. Patricia loved going to the Thunderbolt Senior Citizens with her friend, Mary Heidt.

In addition to her daughter, Mary Ann Kennedy Vines, Patricia is survived by four granddaughters; Allison K. Waters (Brian), Nicole K. Scruggs (Bobby), Stephanie B. Richards, (Michael), Jessica B. James, (Bryan); eight great-grandchildren, Scott, T.J., Tyler, Jacob, Brandon, Katlin, Tripp, Graham; two great- great-grandchildren, Hayden and Austin, and one on the way at any time, Mary Teagan; a former daughter in law, Michele Bankston; numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00
a.m., Friday, April 26, 2013 at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park with Rev Michael Myers officiating.

Memorial Contribution in lieu of flower may be made to Cokesbury United Methodist Church Youth Fund, 5411 Skidaway Rd., Savannah, GA 31406.
