Eulalia (Rae) Mackie, resident of San Jose, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 86 surrounded by her loving family on March 28, 2011. Our mother was born in Portland Maine in 1925. She was the youngest of four sisters all of whom preceded her in death. She met Jim Mackie, her husband of 53 years, when he was in Portland on leave from the Navy. They married in September 1946. Together they established their home and lovingly raised four children in San Jose, CA. Rae was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Duddy, her sisters, Ann, Gertrude and Helen all of Portland, Maine. She was the loving daughter-in-law of Roy and Violet Rockley and the beloved wife of Jim Mackie who passed away March 25, 2000. Loving mother to Jim Mackie (Fran), Debbie Mackie, Lorrie Silva (Jim) and Vikki Marceau (Joe). Loving grandmother to Tammi Enos (Ed), Jim Mackie III (Lisa), Tyler and Katie Silva and Caitlin Mackie-Burke. Great-grandmother to Lauren, Brittany, Amber and James. Our mom was an amazing mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved the SF Giants, attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting activities, her many trips to Tahoe and visiting with family and friends. We are saying goodbye to a woman who loved and supported her family and treasured her many longtime friendships. We would like to acknowledge the loving care provided by Tess Desiderio for the past two years. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday April 2 at 2:00 pm at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary at 466 N. Winchester Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 4850 Union Ave., San Jose, CA 95124.
