Alexander Macpherson, age 87, passed away at home on April 6, 2013 surrounded by family. Goodbyes were hard as he will be sorely missed after suffering a debilitating stroke in August 2012. There was also joy for him as he is once again able to walk, move and enjoy "life" again.

He was born on November 12, 1925 in Fresno, CA.

He spent his childhood in various cities in Southern and Northern California.

He enlisted in The Army Air Corps. on December 31, 1943 at the age of 17 and served through 1945.

Alex married Elva Jean Carter on June 20, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was active in The LDS Church and served in several leadership positions, a 2 1/2 year mission with his wife, Jean, and both served as Temple Workers in the Los Angeles, San Diego and St. George LDS Temples. He left a strong legacy of faith.

He is known by many for his love of music, love of fishing and generosity. Many a person will always be grateful for all he gave of himself, including the many fishing trips he sponsored.

Alex is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean; his four daughters: Pamela Jean Costa, Susan Boden, Julie Ann Wheeler and Nancy Elaine Taylor; 17 grandchildren; and 40 great grandchildren.

His second daughter, Jody, left this world early. She will greet him on the other side. What a wonderful posterity.

Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Friend, even when time was short and money was precious, he found ways to meet all of our needs. Now, as Jesus said, "In My Father's house are many mansions - If it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you." - John 14:2
