COOPER, Joan M. 72, died on 18th of November 2009. She had a heart attack at home and died shortly after in the emergency room in a New Port Richey hospital. Joan was born to Wilhelmina and Wallace Macintosh on 3 June 1937 in Long Branch, New Jersey. She grew up mostly in New Jersey where she graduated from, at the time, Leonardo High school in 1955. She met her husband, Jack, in 1953 and they dated steadily until they were married in 1957 after he graduated from West Point. They spent over 20 years moving over 20 times including Germany and Brazil until he retired from the military. Following this, they moved to Fremont, MI as her husband accepted a position with Gerber Products Company. This was followed by another six moves including one to Mexico with Gerber. After retiring from Gerber in 1995, they had a house built in New Port Richey. They also kept a summer residence in Fremont. As an avid golfer, she was an accurate chipper and putter. Her drives were the envy of most men. She also took great pleasure in being with her sons and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jack; sons, Blair of Denver, CO and Loren (Mike) of Fountain, MI; one granddaughter; four grandsons; a great-grandson; and a twin sister, Doris (Dee), of the Villages, FL. A memorial service will be held at Dobies Funeral Home at 8825 Old C.R. 54, New Port Richey on Wednesday, Nov. 25th at 10am. Internment will be at West Point, New York Cemetery later next year.
