Mildred May Catarius died Nov. 11, 2007, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mildred was born Dec. 17, 1911, to George and Elizabeth MacDougall in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Mildred was only 11 years old when she lost her mother to pneumonia. Being the eldest of four children, Mildred helped to raise her siblings. As a young teenager, Mildred, along with her younger sister, left for Boston, Mass., to live with relatives and find work. Mildred later married Peter J. Catarius of Boston, and their two daughters - Carol Fox of Spring Creek, Nev., and Audrey Weems of Salt Lake City, Utah - were born and raised in Boston. Mildred later resided in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Spring Creek, Nev., to be with her daughters. Mildred was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth MacDougall, her father, George MacDougall, and her brother, Leonard MacDougall, all of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada; and her husband, Peter J. Catarius, a WWII weteran, of Boston, Mass. Mildred is survived by her sister, Audrey Davis of Waltham, Mass.; her brother and sister-in law, Warren and Dorothy MacDougall of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada; her daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Don Weems of Salt Lake City, Utah; her daughter and son-in-law Carol and Richard Fox of Spring Creek, Nev.; and her granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Jennifer and Morgan Porter of Salt Lake City, Utah. Mildred also leaves behind many nephews and nieces as well as many other family members and friends.
