ANAMOSA...Marietta P. Carstensen, 93, of Anamosa, died Thursday, July 20 at the Anamosa Care Center following a lingering illness.
Graveside memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 24 at the Olin Cemetery. The Rev. Lori Reily officiated at the service.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews and friends.
Marietta Pearl Lyon was born February 2, 1913 near Olin in Jones County. She was the daughter of William and Etta Clothier Lyon. She attended school in the Olin schools. On May 6th, 1933 she married Henry Carstensen in Anamosa. They farmed in the Morley, Martelle and Olin area. She also worked as a cleaning lady in the Anamosa area for 20 years. They moved to Anamosa in 1974, then retired.
