Lola Beth Lybrand Bee, age 86, passed from this life on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez TX Veterans Home in Big Spring. She was born September 8, 1923 to Kerby "Lefty" Lybrand and Eva Permelia Lybrand in Sulphur Springs, TX.

Lola grew up in Wink, Kermit, and Pecos during the Depression. She went to school at Kermit High School and was a Yellow Jacket. She played the clarinet in the band. She joined the Navy after Pearl Harbor and served for two years. She was extremely proud of her service in World War II.

She put up with a lot from her boys. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandkids and great-grandkids were the joys of her life. Lola was a member of the Baptist church. She was a wonderful lady who was loved by all. She never met a stranger. Lola didn't like driving a car unless it was a standard. She also loved drinking her diet Coke and eating her Cheetos.

Lola, I am gonna miss our talks and laughs together. You were like a Mom to me instead of a mother-in-law. You said I was like a daughter you didn't have. Love you always; you will be in my heart forever, Jeannie.

She is survived by four sons: Lawrence Warren Bee, Jr., Lowell Jack Bee and wife Bea, Leonard Craig Bee, and Leslie Leland Bee and wife Jeannie, all of Odessa; grandchildren: Hope Bee, Neal Bee, Sanya Cortez, Patricia Bee, and Wesley Bee; and three great-grandchildren: Ally Bee, Meeghan Cortez, and Kasen Bee.

She was preceded on death by her parents: Kirby and Eva Lybrand; husband: Lawrence Warren Bee; sister: Dolly Dimpel; brothers: Cecil Lybrand and Lowell Lybrand.

Services are 4:00 pm Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Jimmy Braswell. Online condolences may be sent at acreswestfuneral.com.
