Virginia "Shorty" Lutz Buff, 84, of Jesse Mountain Road, Casar, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Grace Hospital in Morganton.
She was born in Catawba County on October 30, 1930 to the late Bider Orese Lutz and Carrie Jane Rhoney Lutz. She was the owner and operator of Buff's Superette of Casar, and was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church and the Eastern Star Chapter #342 of Casar.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Garland G. Buff; brother, Hoke Lutz; two sisters, Martha Hunnicutt and Ruby Walker.
She is survived by her son Ronald Garland Buff and wife Gail of Shelby; daughter Diane Buff Hull of Casar; two brothers, Noah Lutz and Carl Lutz both of Hickory; sister, Mary Johnson of Hildebran; two grandchildren, Lennie Buff of Shelby and Vickie Isenhour and husband Craig of Catawba; and four great grandchildren, Seth Buff, Zachary Buff, Bryson Buff, and Taylor Thomas.
The family will receive friends on Monday form 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Olive Grove Baptist Church. Condolences may be made online at www.stameytysingerfuneralhome.com.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 3:00 PM at Olive Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Terrill Crump officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
