1964-2016

Happy Norma Cecile Lurvey Blum, 52, of Milton, FL left this earthly world early Friday morning December 23, 2016.

She was born on August 14, 1964 to Norma Hutto Lurvey and Cecil E. Lurvey, which just happened to be Norma's birthday in Milton, FL. The nickname 'Happy' seemed to be a natural choice as it described her perfectly to which it was eventually changed to her legal name.

Happy grew up in the small community of Allentown and was loved by many for her compassion, her smile and her contagious laughter. That spirit helped her through her many years of battling breast cancer and many other medical issues. She found joy in reaching out to other cancer patients as well as anyone suffering from other illnesses with advice and compassion everywhere she went. She helped other cope by sharing her cheerful and happy personality with all that she came in contact with.

Survivors include: her father, Cecil 'Honey' Lurvey; her son, Cecil Earl Blum (Becca); her sister, Leisha Louise Lurvey (Terry); her niece, Laci (Chad) Nowling; her nephew, Levi Thomas (Alexis); two special great-nieces, Jordyn Layla and Jorja Leigh Thomas; great nephews, Landon Chase and Colton Jace Nowling and Aiden Carrier; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.

Trahan Family Funeral Home, 6539 Trammel Dr. in Milton, Florida is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday December 28, 2016 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home with Bro. Jessie Rheam officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Park on Highway 90 in Milton, FL.

Pall Bearers will be: John Levi Thomas, Chad Nowling, Ron Golden, Joseph Trawick, Dale Wayne McCreless and Dale Thomas.

The family would like to give a special Thank You, to the personnel at: The Woodlands, West Florida Hospital, West Florida Rehabilitation, Sacred Heart Hospital, Pruitt Health, Peoples Home Health, Blue Angel Taxi and the numerous others who have helped Happy throughout this long and winding journey.

She is loved and will be missed by many in the days and years to come.
