Edward G. Lupien, 76, of Batesville died Sunday, July 22, 2001 in Batesville.

Born Feb. 8, 1925, in Chicago Heights, Ill., he was the son of Albert and Pearl Allbright Lupien. He was a retired quality control engineer for White-Rodgers Division of Emerson. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of the Batesville Toastmasters, Batesville Musical Arts Society, a volunteer for Batesville Help & Hope and had received the Rotary Service Above Self and Paul Harris Fellow awards.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Lupien; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sue Ellen Lupien of Concord, Calif., and Lorri A. and Drew C. Nichols of Maumelle; a sister-in-law, Barbara Ronayne of Batesville; a friend, Shari Pfister of Concord, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews, including Jennifer L. Hidy and Emma Holliday, both of Batesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Willis-Hays Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Independence County Library and Humane Society of Independence County.
