Dorothy M. Lunde, 91, of Austin, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center, Austin.
She was born March 8, 1911, in Austin, to Chauncy and Mabel (Greer) Matthews.
She graduated from Austin High School in 1928.
On May 15, 1937, she married Everett Lunde at her parents' home in Austin.
She worked as a secretary for the George A. Hormel Company for nine years and later worked for the Jordan Builders Company for almost 20 years. She retired in 1974.
Dorothy and Everett wintered in Mesa, Ariz. for 16 years.
Dorothy was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Austin, Unity Chapter #29 O.E.S. and a past Matron. She belonged to Bridge Club, Birthday Club and (B.P.O.E.) DOES.
Survivors include husband, Everett Lunde, Austin; sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Barbara Lunde, Montevideo; James Lunde and Gwen Olson, Minneapolis; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Matthews, Harry Matthews and C.G. Matthews; sister, Blanche Matthews Hawkins.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 7, 2002, and one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Service: 1:30 p.m., Monday, at Christ Episcopal Church in Austin with the Rev. Richard A. Ressler officiating. Organist will be Cynthia Corbly and violinist will be Kevin Peterson. Casket bearers will be David Plantikow, Jack Flynn, Nathan Nemitz, Kenneth Dahlgren, Jean Burton and Bruce Jordan.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
Funeral Home: Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, Austin.
