Mother Is Leukemia Victim
Mrs. Neva Gail Arnett, 18, wife of Marvin Arnett of Edinburg route 2, died at 2 a.m. today at Bartholomew county hospital, a victim of leukemia.
Mrs. Arnett had been seriously ill three months and a patient at the hospital five days.
She was born at Seymour March 17, 1947, to Marvin and Claudine Wilson Lucas. She attended Columbus high school and belonged to St. Louis Crossing Baptist church. She and her husband, who is employed at Arvin Industries, were married March 7, 1964.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Louis Crossing Baptist church by the Rev. Kenneth Lucas. Burial will be at Sidney cemetery near St. Louis Crossing. Persons may call at Norman funeral home at Hope from 3 p.m. Wednesday until 11 a.m. Thursday when the casket will be taken to the church.
Survivors are the husband; a son, Scott Allen Arnett, 8 months old; her mother, Mrs. Paul Williams of Route 7; her father, Marvin Lucas of Columbus; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lucas of Route 5 and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wilson of Freetown; two sisters, Diane and Beverly Lucas and a brother, Ernest Lucas, all of Route 7; a half-brother, Michael Lucas of Columbus; a half-sister, Tamara Lucas of Columbus; three stepsisters, Debra, Barbara Jean and Patricia Ann Brown, all of Columbus; and two step brothers; Robert Wayne Brown and Michael Williams, both of Columbus.
