He was born in Portland August 24, 1944, the son of Vernon and Anna Louise (Stroube) Loy. He was the owner of Laramie Lunch Restaurant, worked at Loy's Sale Barn and farmed. He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles Lodge, and 1962 Portland High School graduate.
Surviving are four sons, Jason Loy of Portland, Mitch Loy of Portland, Cain Bilbrey of Portland, and Robert Morningstar of Portland; one daughter, Brandy Brockman of Eagleside, TX; and one step daughter, Staci Morehouse of Portland; one sister, Jeanette Loy of Portland; and eight granddaughters.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Harris presiding. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2-6 p.m. and one hour prior to the services Saturday.
Memorials can be made to State of the Heart Hospice or Hospice of Northeast Indiana.
