Richard LaVerne Lowe, 76, died unexpectedly at 3 AM Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1992, in his Lafayette home. Born July 24, 1916, at Brook, IN, he was a graduate of Goodland High School and came to Lafayette 26 years ago. He was married to Harriette M. Schembs on Aug. 8, 1952, at Remington, IN; she survives.
Mr. Lowe was employed at Fireproof Garage for 25 years and retired as the service manager. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1941-1945. He was a member of Brown Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Dann Lowe of Indianapolis; one daughter, Suzy (Mrs. David) Gunneson of Swartz Creek, MI; one sister, Martha Lowe of Lafayette; and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by his mother, Mayme Lowe in December 1991; his father, Elmer Lowe; and a brother, David Lowe.
