Robert C. Love, 80, of Cordova, retired from the National Cotton Council, died Jan. 4, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis.

Services were held Jan. 7 at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Memorial Park. He was a World War II Navy veteran, the recipient of a Bronze Star, a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, St. Luke's Methodist Church and Delta Psi Fraternity and a graduate of Whitehaven High School and Ole Miss.

Mr. Love, the widower of Jane Lovelace Love and the husband of Marjean W. Love for 24 years, also leaves a daughter, Betsy Love Ritter of Jackson, Miss.; a son, Robert C. Love III of Columbus, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Debi Carter of Bartlett and Connie Miller of Orefield, Pa.; two stepsons, Donny Short of Collierville and David Short of Cordova; a sister, Dorothy Love Dickinson of Owensboro, Ky., and nine grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Bellevue Baptist Church Love Worth Finding or French Camp (Miss.) Academy.
