He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and worked with the mentally challenged at the Los Lunas Community Program for 4 years. He served in the Army National Guard for 12 years as a Sergeant E-5 working with the air defense artillery as a chaparral crewmember.
Mag especially loved to be around his family; his children were his life and he loved his Mom very much. He was known as a jokester and was always pulling a joke on someone. He enjoyed getting together with his family to watch NFL football and was a huge Green Bay Packers fan. On occasion he liked to drink beer at Garley's with his brother, Julian. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and camping.
He is preceded in death by: his father, Julian "Billy" Lopez; maternal grandparents, Felipe and Luciana Peralta; paternal grandfather, Margarito Lopez; and one brother, Anthony P. Lopez.
Mag is survived by: his loving mother, Clorinda Torres of Belen; paternal grandmother, Arsenia Lopez of Mountainair, NM; his loving children: Gabriel, Jaccob, and Marcos Lopez of Roswell, and Azharae Lopez of Artesia; three brothers:, Steven and his wife, Elouise, of Louisburg, TN; Julian and his companion, Katrina of Belen; and Nathan of Belen; sister-in-law, Alma Lopez of Willard; and seven nieces and nephews: Arianne, Steven, Ashley, Brian, Monique, Anthony, and Jovini.
Pallbearers were: Steven, Julian, Nathan, Gabriel, Jaccob, and Marcos Lopez, Jake Lueras, and Chris Peralta.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Monique Antonia Meagan Lopez.
Interment at the Abo Cemetery.
