Delma Ladean Long Grimm
(February 21, 1919 - February 23, 2013)

Delma Grimm, 94, passed away of causes incident to age on February 23, 2013.

Delma was born near Beaconsfield, Iowa on February 21, 1919 to Edwin D. and Ora Osborn Long.

She graduated from Ellston High School. She married Ralph L. Grimm on March 10, 1937 in Leon, Iowa. They were happily married for 52 years before Ralph died.

They moved to Ogden, Utah in 1953 and raised their 5 children there. Delma received much love and joy from her family. She always enjoyed working and helping others. She was employed at several sewing firms, both in Iowa and Utah, throughout the years. She retired from the Ogden Defense Depot after working there for over 20 years.

Upon retirement, Delma started doing volunteer work. She began volunteering at the Ogden Union Station in 1996 where she loved meeting people from many different countries. She traveled through all the United States, Japan, Canada, England, Scotland, Germany, France, and Switzerland.

Delma is survived by her two daughters, Peggy (Don) Pierce of Santa Clara, UT and Karma (James) Dixon of North Salt Lake, UT; three sons, Roger Grimm of Englewood, CO, Tom (Sandra) Grimm of Bountiful, UT, and Ed (Nancy) Grimm of Baldwinsville, NY. She cherished her 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Delma's memory to the Ogden Union Station, 2501 Wall Ave. Ogden, UT 84401.

Delma's family is very grateful to South Davis Home Health and Hospice, the staff at Barton Creek Assisted Living in Bountiful, and Dr. Rob Mohr for their tender loving care.
