She was born May 13, 1916 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas the daughter of Javan Julius and Jane Elizabeth Preston Long. She married Samuel A. Leamons on January 13, 1939 at Youngblood Baptist Church in Nortonville. He died January 3, 1970.
She is survived by two sons, Glenn David Leamons of Bluffs and Lyle Leamons of Riverton, two daughters, Samme Jo Schramm and Willa Bivin, both of Palmyra; four brothers, Julius "Bud" Long and Roy Long, both of Waverly, Raph Long of Roodhouse and Harvey Long of Franklin; four sisters, Myrtle Hendricker of Shelbyville, Mo., Martha Waters of Jacksonville, Marjorie White of Franklin and Betty Chapman of Waverly; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 29 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Seymour; and one nephew.
Mrs. Leamons was a certified nurse's assistant and worked with the Visiting Nurses Association. She was a former member of the New Hope Baptist Church and was a member of the Waverly Christian Church at the time of her death.
Mr. and Mrs. Leamons farmed in the area for several years.
Funeral services were held Monday at Neece Funeral Home in Waverly with burial in Waverly East Cemetery.
