Mary Kathryn Knarr, 86, of Punxsutawney, died Monday, February 2, 2009 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Mrs. Knarr was born in Henderson Twp. on October 7, 1922. A daughter of the late Irvin and Bertha (Zimmerman) London.
She was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and a member of the Ladies Altar Guild.
She was married to Ernest G. Knarr who preceded her in death June 19, 1952.
Mrs. Knarr is survived by 1 son; Alvin G. Knarr and wife Carla of Punxsutawney. 1 daughter; Kathryn L. Wachob and husband Dorsey LeRoy of Punxsutawney. 3 brothers; Irvin London and wife Delores of Oliveburg, William London and wife Dalma of Punxsutawney and Walter London and wife Helen of Pittsburgh. 2 sisters; Ethel Yoder of Florida and Eileen Parrish and husband William of Mahaffey. 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by 2 brothers; Robert and Arthur London.
Friends will be received Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 7-9 pm and Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church at 11 am with Pastor Maureen Seifried officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
