Faith L. Munch-Dye
Faith L. Munch-Dye, R.N., passed away February 22, 1999, at Faxton hospital.
She was born to the late Claude P. and Olive Hartley Lohnas on August 21, 1921, in West Winfield. She attended West Winfield Central School, Utica School of Commerce, Utica College, and in 1945, graduated from Amsterdam City Hospital School of Nursing. During WW II Faith was a member of the U.S. Nurses Cadet Corps. On April 27, 1946, she married Warren R. Munch. He passed away November 3, 1991. For 35 years, Faith worked at Faxton Hospital. She began her employment as a Staff Nurse then Charge Nurse of Labor and Delivery. Faith retired as Senior staff Nurse on 3rd Med-Surg Floor in 1983. On October 8, 1995, Faith married Robert Dye. They spent the last five winters in Tavares, FL Faith's memberships included the Clayville Pilgrim Congragational Church and Choir, the NYS Nurses Association (Dist #7) Bridgewater Women's Art Club, member and past Matron of Eastern Star, past District Deputy of Eastern Star Kismet Chapter#217 and St. David Society Choir of Utica.
Faith is survived by her husband Robert, of Cassville; a son and daughter-in-law, Eric W. and Linda Munch, of Clinton, a daughter, Jacalyn Faith Mayton of New Hartford; her uncle, Gilbert P. hartley, Sauquoit; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Neff, waterville, Helen M. Brown, West Winfield; and brother-in-law, P. Joseph Devaney, New Hartford; six grandchildren, Colleen and husband, Joseph Madia, Russell and wife, Cathy Munch, Kristofer and Jennifer Munch, Amanda and Laura Mayton, four great-grandchildren, Samantha Wells, Amber Munch, Colin Madia, and Jeremiah Mayton; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Leslie (Beezer) and Russell Lohnas.
The family wishes to thank the Dr.s and staff of Faxton hospital for their care and concern of our dear Faith.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilcox-Dimbleby Funeral Home, West Winfield. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica. Calling hours are today, 2-4and 7-9. Athe Kismet Chapter #217 OES will have ritualistic services tonight at 8:15
