Swanie C. Berryhill, age 84, of Tuscumbia, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011.
Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Donald "Butch" Davis and the Rev. Hollis Retherford officiating. Burial will follow in Guy Cemetery.
Mrs. Berryhill was owner and operator of Berryhill Grocery for 32 years and was retired from TVA (Browns Ferry) in 1989 and attended Bear Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. "Bearcat" Berryhill; her parents, Major Thomas Loggins and Elizabeth Pugh Loggins; and brother, Thomas Loggins.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby Berryhill and wife, Rosemary, Ronald Dale "Ronnie" Berryhill and wife, Janice; daughter, Janice Harbin; brother, Howard Loggins and wife, Georgia; sister-in-law, Madge Loggins; three grandchildren, Angie and husband, Ronnie, Alison and husband, Rodney, and Tyler; three great-grandchildren, Morgan, Bailey and Jason.
Pallbearers are Tyler Berryhill, Rodney Porter, Brad Miller, Darrel Miller, Larry Miller and Ron Lacks.
Honorary pallbearer is Bobby Adams.
