Funeral services for Arnold Frank Loeber, age 89, of 166 Lost Village Road, Ogdensburg, will be held on Monday, September 16th, 10:30 AM, at the Presbyterian Stone Church, Stone Church Road, in the town of Oswegatchie with Rev. David Hart and Rev. John Kashorek officiating. Burial will follow at the Stone Church Cemetery with military honors, followed by a praise gathering in the Stone Church basement.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Frary Funeral Home of 515 Caroline Street, Ogdensburg.
Mr. Loeber died Friday, September 13, 2013, at 585 Finnegan Road, Potsdam (stepdaughter's residence) under Hospice Care.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Wilson Loeber; two sons, Edward Loeber and James Loeber of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; five stepsons, Bruce Wilson, Richard Wilson, Abraham Wilson of Statesville, North Carolina, Stephen Wilson of Kentucky and Roger Wilson of Ogdensburg, New York; five stepdaughters, Beverly Davis of Potsdam, New York, Frances Blanton of Statesville, North Carolina, Diane Jones of Turlock, California, Barbara Harper of Ogdensburg, New York and Janet Burnham of Hammond, New York.
Mr. Loeber was predeceased by his parents, David and Katherine Loeber of Schenectady, New York; a son, Bruce Loeber in 1998; three brothers, David Frederick Loeber, Conrad William Loeber and Ernest Edmond Loeber and a sister, Mildred L. Spadaro, all of Schenectady, New York.
Arnold was born in the Town of Rotterdam, son of David and Katherine Daum Loeber. He graduated in 1941 from Draper High School in Schenectady, New York. Arnold was eighteen when drafted into the service during World War II. He was discharged in December of 1945 and had received the following medals; Purple Heart, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Bronze Star Italian Campaign and the Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Loeber married the former Leona Wilson on November 16, 2002 at Stone Church with Mary Thorton officiating.
Following the service, Arnold decided to attend Bentley College located in Waltham, Massachusetts on the G.I. Bill. He graduated in 1948 and is a member of the Blue and Gold Society.
After graduation he was employed by the G.E. General Electric Corporation where he enjoyed his employment of over thirty-five years. His title was Cost Improvement and Suggestions Analyst and Budget Specialist.
