Claude Ethan Locklin Jr, was born December 9, 1925 and ascended to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 18, 2009. He was 83 years young.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Claude E.Sr.and Sue Locklin. Claude Jr. served his country in WWII, graduated from Florida State University and joined the FBI until 1958 when he moved back to his much loved home town of Milton to raise a family. He was an avid hunter, active in local politics and the undisputed top supporter of football at FSU. He was a charter member of the Golden Chief Boosters and a life-long friend of Bobby Bowden. He served his community with a generous heart and his love of family and church was unwavering.
Claude is survived by his brother, Jack Locklin (Josephine) numerous nephews, nieces and cousins as well as his 4 children, son in law and daughters in law, 12 grandchildren, and 6 step great grand children. His daughter, Suanne Locklin-Johnson (Randy), Skye Hoodless of Milton, Mickey Hoodless (Lesly) Gulf Shores, and Melissa Gray of Carson City Nevada. Son Mark Locklin (Karen) Savannah, Sarah and Caleb Locklin of Chumuckla, son Michael Locklin (Lisa), Jake, McKinsey and Scarlett all of Milton. Son Mitchell Locklin, daughters Brandy, Ally and Brooklyn along with special friend Cee Cee Addison all of Lafayette, La.
Our dad and "Paw-Paw" leaves behind a legacy of love, honor, family and service to the community. He will be in our hearts always and deeply mourned by his friends and family. Our undying thanks and gratitude to the wonderful nurses and aides at Santa Rosa Health & Rehab for making our Dad (and all of us) feel at home and his last months comfortable and loved.
Visitation will be at Margaret Street Church of Christ on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 6-9 PM. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the Church with burial at the Milton Cemetery.
