Inspector Blanton transferred to Commercial Vehicle Enforcement as an inspector in December 2015. She had previously worked at Sealmaster for twenty-five years. Benita attended Johnson First Church of God and was a life member of the National Rifle Association. She enjoyed hunting, Shop With A Trooper, riding motorcycles, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Benita was survived by her loving husband, Bill Blanton; her mother, Rita Juanita Littleton Little of Morehead, Kentucky; one son, Brad (and Caitlin) Johnson of Charlestown, Indiana; one daughter, Rachael Lynn (and Justin) Childers of Beattyville, Kentucky; one-step daughter, Lynsey Rae (and Bobby) Cantrell of Louisa, Kentucky; one brother, James Earl (and Kim) Little of Morehead, Kentucky; three sisters, Darlena Little of Lexington, Kentucky, and Vonda (and Mike) Boyd and Melissa (and Larry) Moore, both of Morehead, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Aidan Trent, Reagan Johnson, Roxanne Childers, Kayden Childers, Hadley Childers, Kayson Cantrell, and Roslyn Cantrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her father, James L. Little, who departed this life on April 13th, 2004.

Visitations were held after 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23rd, 2016 at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead, Kentucky.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24th, 2016 in the Chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating.

Burial followed in the Adams-Plank Cemetery in Cranston, Kentucky. Final rites were presented by the Kentucky State Police Honor Guard at the gravesite. Her pallbearers were Kentucky State Police and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers.

THIS IS A TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF BENITA,

If you could see me now you wouldn't shed a tear, Though you may not understand why I'm no longer there. Remember my spirit, that is the real me because I'm still very much alive, I've just been set free. Oh, if you could only see!

I have held our Father's face and I've touched my Savior's hand. All of Heaven's angels rejoiced as I entered the promised land. Beyond the gates of pearl I've walked on the golden streets.

I've touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the crystal sea. The beauty is beyond words and nothing could compare, I've even seen our Lords mansion and someday I'll meet you there. Let Jesus be your guide because "His Word" will show you the way. So please don't cry because we will meet again someday.
