Idell Bertha Right Linney Bennett, age 89, of Bennett Road, Stony Point, passed away on Wednesday, August 17th, 2016 at Autumn Care in Statesville, NC. She was born October 10th, 1926, in Alexander County, to the late Walter Linney and Lona Belle Little Linney. Idell was an active member of Philadelphia UMC; she was a member of the Senior Choir, Sunday school teacher and President of the Philadelphia United Methodist Women. Idell was retired from Craftmaster Furniture as a fabric cutter.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Bennett, two sisters; Erma L. Twymon, Louvella L. Turner, four brothers; Bradford Linney, Ray Linney, Claude Linney and George Linney.

Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Robert Speaks (wife, Diane “Carolyn”) of Stony Point; one brother; Orange Jay Linney (Edith) of Greensboro and one sister Rochella L. Kelly (Howard) of Philadelphia, PA.
Four Grandchildren; Sabrina S. Roseman of Charlotte, Tracy Speaks, of Stony Point, Toni S. Walker of NY, NY and Robert D. Speaks of Stony Point, seven great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

A Funeral service for Idell, will be conducted 3:00 PM, Monday August 22nd, 2016 at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 4165 Old Mountain Road, Stony Point, NC. Rev. Kristy Burnette and Elder Keith Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM-3:00PM prior to the funeral service. Committal service will follow in the church cemetery.
