Joann Lindsey Carnes, 80. Longtime resident of Jackson, MS. Died May 31,2011. At Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Hot Springs Village, AR.
Services will be 1:00 pm Saturday June 4, 2011, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS, preceded by visitation at 11:00am. A graveside service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Joann was born in Morton, MS on August 31, 1930 To the Late Elmo & Lela Mae Lindsey. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert G. "Shady" Carnes. She is survived by her daughter, Jonelle Romine, of Hot Springs Village, AR, and her two sons; John Carnes, of Fairhope, AL and Steve Carnes of New Orleans, LA. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Hannah Swingle and Grace Carnes, and a great granddaughter, Aislynn Swingle, all of Jackson.
Joann was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church for nearly 60 years. She was devoted wife and loving mother, who brightened the day of everyone she met.
