GALESBURG EVENING-MAIL: NOVEMBER 9, 1916

---------------

DEATH OF MARGERITE LINDSEY
KNOXVILLE - Margarite Corine Lindsey, the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lindsey, of Ann Street, was born on the farm near this city March 12, 1879 and has spent most of her life in this community. The one who has power to give and take called her home November 8, 1916, to be with the dear ones who have gone before. Maggie, as she was always called was a girl of a lovable disposition and all who knew her could only speak words of praise of her.
The deceased leaves to mourn her departure, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Lindsey, her sister, Mary and six brothers, Edward, Simeon, Harry and Ray of this city, Robert of Shenandoah, Iowa, and Arthur of Erskine, Canada, all of whom were present at the funeral except Arthur.
Funeral services were held at the home on November 10th at 2 o'clock, Rev. A.R. Mathes speaking words of kindness and sympathy. A quartet composed of Mrs. W.M. McBride, Miss Francis Seaford, Nathan Anderson and Gordon Sanford sang three beautiful selections, "Abide With Me," "Asleep in Jesus" and "Heaven is My Home." A profusion of flowers from neighbors and friends bedecked the casket and for those and all other expressions of sympathy those who mourn the loss of the deceased were very grateful.
The interment was in the Knoxville Cemetery, the frail body being lovingly borne to the tomb by the five brothers and a nephew, Arthur Lindsey.
