George was born in Springfield on August 30, 1934. He married Margaret Clark on October 9, 1957. George was an operating engineer until he retired in 2005. They lived in Chatham most of their lives and then moved to Springfield. He is survived by one sister, Eva Hart of Salem, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Eva Bell Lindsey and two sisters, Ruby White and Eleana McCleary. He passed away on November 5, 2008 at St. John's Hospice.
They had two children, Debbie (Bill) Herter of Las Vegas, NV and Paula Georgene Lindsay of Springfield; and one granddaughter, Amy (Garrett) Spoor of MO.
Graveside services will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
