"Crash Kills Widow Of Lititz Native Who Died Six Weeks Ago.
Mrs. Rena Lindner Baker, sixty-three, widow of the Rev. Dr. Joseph Baker, was killed almost instantly at 10:30 p. m. Friday when an automobile in which she was a passenger collided with a tractor trailer truck head-on, on the Susquehanna Trail, near New Cumberland.
Her late husband, pastor of St. Matthew's Lutheran church, York, a native of Lititz, died only six weeks ago.
Three other persons were injured in the crash that occurred as they were enroute home from a speaking engagement at Enola Lutheran church. Mrs. Baker accompanied the group because her daughter, Mrs. Clara Forgie, is a member of the Enola congregation.
Police of the Harrisburg State Police barracks said the accident was caused by the slippery condition of the New Cumberland hill, which had been drenched by rain during the night.
Mrs. Baker was active in church work and was superintendent of the primary and junior departments of St. Matthew's Sunday school. Dr. Baker died shortly after marking his 20th anniversary in the York charge. The couple had been married 42 years.
Besides her daughter in Enola, Mrs. Baker is survived by these children: Mrs. Stanley Hoffman, Somerset; Mrs. Walter Hill, Gettysburg, and Lt. Joseph J. Baker, U. S. Army Medical Corps at Fort Sam Houston."
