MARY THERESE LINDLEY KAISER died June 18, 1990, in Anchorage, Alaska, at age 77.
Mrs. Kaiser was born, September 18, 1912, in Mattole to Elihu and Laura Haley Lindley.
She graduated from Ferndale High School in 1930 and attended the University of California Training School for Nurses, graduating in 1934. Mrs. Kaiser served as president of the University of California at San Francisco Nursing Alumni Association from 1945 to 1947 and served in the Cadet Nursing Corps during World War II.
In 1960 she moved to Alaska and went to work for Providence Hospital in Anchorage. She received the Providence Pacemakers Certificate of Appreciation from the Sisters of Charity of Providence for distinguished support following the 1964 earthquake. After leaving Providence Hospital in 1971, she moved to Seward, Alaska, where she worked for the Wesleyan Nursing Home until retiring in 1984. She was a life member of the Alaska State Board of Nursing.
She is survived by three sisters, Erlene Haley of Bonanza, Oregon, Eloise E. Anderson of Klammath Falls, Oregon, and June Etter of Ettersburg..
Mrs. Kaiser was preceded in death by her first husband, Don Wayne Puterbough, and her second husband, Benedict Kaiser.
