Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Edens, who died last Monday morning at Mercy hospital, Urbana, were held at 2 o'clock, Wednesday afternoon from the local U. B. Church, with Rev. J. F. Turner officiating.
Mrs. Kenneth Dicks and Mrs. Claude Combs sang, "It is Well With my Soul," "Sweet Peace, the Gift of God's Love," "Whispering Hope," and "Jesus Lover of my Soul."
Pallbearers were Thos. Bergfield, Roy Bergfield, P. O. Rayl, O. D. Struck, John Nohren, Bert Boyd.
Interment was made in St. John's cemetery northwest of Broadlands with Dick's Bros. in charge.
Pearl Lill, daughter of John and Anna Lill, was born May 22, 1887, at Danforth, and moved with her parents to Broadlands in 1892, where she spent the rest of her life.
She was united in marriage on April 15, 1911, to John Edens, who died Nov. 25, 1917. Her parents and one brother also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Edens had been in failing health for several years and was taken to Mercy hospital, Urbana on July 4th, where she died on Monday morning, Aug. 2, 1937.
The deceased was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, and the United Brethren Church.
Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Anna Struck; and two grandchildren, John Marvin and Janet Louise Struck.
