John Lievense Dies Tuesday At Daughter's Home
Gibbsville -- The funeral of John Lievense, 80, who died here Tuesday at 1:45 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter Huibregtse, will be held Friday. Services will be at Simmelink's Funeral Home at Oostburg at 12:30 p.m., and at the Gibbsville Reformed church at 1 p.m.
The Rev. R. C. Lubbers will officiate and burial will be in the Gibbsville cemetery.
Mr. Lievense's death was caused by bronchial pneumonia. He was born in the Netherlands, September 22, 1857. He was married to Miss Kate De Pagter in 1879, and the couple came to America in 1881.
Mr. Lievense has lived in Gibbsville for the last 50 years.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Peter Huibregtse of this village and Mrs. Garret Wassink of Edgerton, Minnesota; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lievense died January 25, 1928.
