BRIM -- Ida Belle Lewis Brim, 91, passed away June 13, 2006 at Brandon Woods Arbor in Lawrence, KS. Ida was born January 13, 1915 in Berino, NM. Although she lived and worked for periods of time in North Carolina, California, and Oklahoma, she lived most of her life in New Mexico where she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone and later as a PBX switchboard Operator for Montgomery Ward in Albuquerque. She moved to Lawrence, KS in 1997 after a stroke to be nearer to her son and daughter. Ida is survived by her son, Ronald Brim of Lawrence, KS; her daughter Barbara Chinander of Lawrence, KS; a sister, Ruby Lewis of Grant, NE; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Jeff and Fannie Lewis of Anthony, NM; two brothers Willard and Robert Lewis; two sisters Lille Jewell and Bessie Norton; her ex-husband Deward Brim of Mt. Airy; and a son, Boyd E. Brim of San Angelo, TX. Visitation will be at Rumsey Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence, KS on Thursday, June 15, 2006 from 3 - 5 p.m. Ida's cremains will be flown to Albuquerque, where she will be interned at Sunset Memorial Park. Ida was a lovely person, a great mother, and she will be very much missed by her family and her many friends.
