He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Lewis, and mother Amanda Drones-Lewis; and his siblings Fletcher Lewis, Pearl Lewis White and James Lewis.
His son Charles Lewis accepted is US Military Headstone on behalf his mother, Willie K Lewis and wife of Eugene Lewis Sr.
He is buried in Branchville Cemetery (Old Providence Cemetery) along with other members of the Lewis Family.
